People in the News: Hilton union succumbs to 3-month itch
Yes, it's officially splitsville in Sin City. Hotel heiress Nicky Hilton and New York businessman Todd Andrew Meister have officially ended their brief marriage.
The Associated Press reports that a Las Vegas judge on Tuesday granted the newlyweds an annulment, according to a joint statement issued by the couple's representatives.

"Both parties have ended the marriage amicably, and they remain good friends," the statement said.
Hilton, 21, married Meister, 33, at the Las Vegas Wedding Chapel on Aug. 15.
It's not clear when the pair filed for the annulment, as the judge sealed the paperwork.
Meanwhile, the AP also reports that "Saturday Night Live" alum Tim Meadows, 43, is headed for divorce court. His wife of six years, Michelle, filed for a divorce in Los Angeles on Monday. The couple has two sons, ages 3 and 1, according to court papers. Michelle has requested the children live with her but that legal custody be shared.
According to Thebacker.blogspot.com, Portman told a classmate at Hebrew University (where she is taking courses such as "Selected Topics in Islamic History and Civilization") that she was "kind of/sort of happy" with the results of the election (you know, the one George W. Bush won).
Although she seems to have forgotten this, we recall that Portman campaigned for Democratic candidate John Kerry.
Then again, despite her academic smarts, Portman is a Hollywood kid. And we hear that this spring, Bush is the new Kerry. Sigh.
Sorvino and her scruffy babe of a husband, Chris Backus, 23, said hello to their first child, a daughter, on Nov. 3.
The name of the child has not been disclosed. The couple, who met in August 2003, wed in June.
Last week the tabloid reported that Zellweger is dieting herself into oblivion (a photo of poor Renée's pinched and pale mug on the cover pretty much backed up the story). Tomorrow's issue gives us a glimpse of what the actress has to put up with in airports. She says baggage handlers make a point of pawing through her stuff in a more detailed manner than necessary.

"They check out my phone book and then all of my clothes," says Zellweger. Instead of tossing out her underwear and personal items after every trip, the actress has taken to FedExing them home. "I'm not going to throw away perfectly good underwear," she said, like the sensible girl we know she is. Now, if only she'd beef up to 120 pounds ...
Bosworth kept leaving the L.A. party to step outside for cigarettes with Kirsten Dunst. The two tried to hide their smokes from photographers outside, probably because the shindig they were attending was a benefit for Lilly Tartikoff's United Cancer Front. Yeah, perhaps on nights like that a nicotine patch or gum would be a good idea, eh?
