Snark Attack
Bill Clinton's "My Life" has been out less than a week and sales are reported slower in more conservative venues. One Indiana bookstore patron said he had no desire "politically" or "morally" to read it. Could be there's a red state-blue state divide in the book world, too. But the publisher probably doesn't care because electoral votes don't count in this election -- only the total ballot of "books sold."

Ralph Nader now presumes to advise John Kerry on a running mate; he's told him to pick North Carolina Sen. John Edwards because, like Nader, the plaintiffs' attorney is committed to upholding a civil justice system endangered by "corporate supremacists." Mr. Nader, here's our advice: Get out of the race before you lose your last shred of dignity -- and save the country from a second Bush presidency.

Well, Kimberly, some conservatives don't agree (a first?). They're hoping to sign petitions today in Portland to add Nader's name to the Oregon ballot. They must know there's more than one way to win an election.

An impromptu debate at a photo session on the Senate floor Tuesday ended with Vice President Dick Cheney telling Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., to "F-- yourself" before stalking off. The Washington Post noted that Cheney's epithet came the same day the Senate passed legislation described as the "Defense of Decency Act" by 99-to-1. Perhaps it was a good thing the vice president didn't have to vote to break a tie on that one.
