1972: Seattle Professional Football Inc., a group of business and community leaders, announced its intentions to bid for a National Football League franchise for Seattle. Herman Sarkowsky served as spokesman of the group, which also included Ned Skinner, Howard S. Wright, M. Lamont Bean, Lynn Himmelman and Lloyd Nordstrom.
1993: Ken Griffey Jr. became the sixth-youngest player to reach 100 career home runs when he took Kansas City's Billy Brewer deep during a 6-1 Seattle victory in the Kingdome. The youngest to 100 homers: Mel Ott, Tony Conigliaro, Eddie Matthews, Johnny Bench and Henry Aaron.
