Fauntleroy ferry riders told to be considerate of neighbors

SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER STAFF

Spurred by complaints from residents near the Fauntleroy Ferry Terminal in West Seattle, police and state officials plan an education campaign to get drivers to be more considerate of the neighborhood.

From 3 to 6:30 p.m. today, officers and officials with the state Department of Transportation and the ferry system will hand out fliers to motorists alerting them to laws and regulations.

Police said they will begin by trying to educate drivers but will follow up with aggressive enforcement. The most frequent complaint, police said, is of speeding cars and noisy motorcycles.
