Seattle Center Monorail to resume service
The Seattle Center Monorail is repaired, and the "debut" resumption run will be this morning.

Mayor Greg Nickels and officials from Seattle Monorail Services and the Seattle Center will announce completion of repairs to the two Monorail trains, sidelined after an accident Nov. 26 in which they sideswiped each other in a curve above Olive Way.
Fixes to the 44-year-old trains included repairs to their damaged sides, cleaning and painting of the support columns and installation of safety systems that will stop the trains automatically before they get too close to each other at the curve again. The cost was estimated at up to $4 million.
Before the shutdown, the Monorail carried about 2 million passengers annually.
