New game 'Yourself Fitness' challenges players to exercise

Xbox (ResponDESIGN)

It was only a matter of time before video games tried to exercise more than players' fingers and thumbs. In this game, you only challenge yourself, with the help of Maya, your personal androidlike fitness trainer.

It's cool that Maya isn't an emaciated twig, but her questions and observations get a little annoying: "Are you feeling good?" "This is a really cool dojo to work out in," etc. "Yourself Fitness" offers great options: type of workout (cardio, flexibility, lower body strength, etc.), length, music, level of difficulty, type of workout equipment.

You even can change the look of her workout space. And you can stop, change your workout, or make it easier or tougher at any time. But you can't fast forward through the two-minute warm-up, which has the same movements every time. Argh. And the music is flat. And I'd still rather see a human doing the moves. Rated E for everyone. (Kristin Dizon)
