Xeko encourages kids to play eco-friendly games
>Yearning to feel good about the games your kids play? Xeko makes its debut today at the King County Earth Day Expo in Westlake Park (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) with a promise that it's exotic and green.
From Seattle-based game designer Amy Tucker, Xeko encourages players (ages 8 and up) to collect and trade cards featuring rare and endangered animals.
The rarer the animal, the scarcer the card. The first game focuses on Madagascar. The game is won by racking up "eco-points" in a process that fosters competition and cooperation while calling upon creative thinking and math/science skills. Information: www.xekogame.com
